Mechanical Engineer

We are looking to appoint a Trade Qualified Mechanical Engineer to our established engineering company based in Palmerston North


We require someone with a broad skill set to fill this role. While it is not necessary to possess all the skills on the list below, a track record of ongoing professional development and skill acquisition will assist the successful applicant in their application. The suitable applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong set of problem solving skills, an ability to work unsupervised, and deliver results in sometimes challenging conditions.


Core skill sets

Positive Attitude

Good written and verbal communication

Ability to read plans and construction drawings

Understanding of current Health and Safety Requirements

Punctual and Motivated

Welding – Mig, Tig, and arc

Purge welding of SS experience an advantage

Pipe work experience favourable

Experience with PE, PVC, and ABS pipe systems

Carpentry and Civil experience/ understanding

Clean license

Class licenses an advantage.

Willing to learn

Lathe and Mills experience

Needs to be self-motivated and be able to work independently of others

Physical fitness is required for the roll

Confined space experience


Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit. This is a full time position.


Applicant should be available for site installation work (not always in Palmerston North some travel required) and be available for overtime should it be required

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced alarms technician.

Our preference is for applicants with expertise in both Security, Access Control and Fire Alarm servicing / installation, with Firetech Level 4 or equivalent.

Ability to work unsupervised and maintain customer relationships is essential.
